dawn at Lake Ella

9/27/2020 – Sunday

We were out by 6:15 am this morning and it was less-warm than yesterday but at least still nice and dark.

The surprise factor was Keely, who went completely off grid. We started out heading over to 3rd Ave. as she likes to do, but as we heading to the parking lot of Midtown Manor she turned left at Taco Republik (which I think is reopening soon? Still no signs of anything but all the stools are back on the tables), took me straight across Thomasville Rd. and then circled around the Whataburger parking lot and headed north again. I have never known her to take this route.

We got up to the intersection of 7th and Thomasville Rd., where I thought for sure she’d turn east down 7th, but no, she crossed the parking lot and after exploring the store fronts of the cannabis dispensary and the Harvest Living Tea Shop, cut west and and just…went home.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

So it was a short walk and it was a weird one and I have no idea what’s going on. She ate breakfast fine and is asleep as usual on my bed now, so I guess she’s feeling okay? She just didn’t want to be outside?

It might be the incoming rain?

*scratches head*

Anyway, the Harvest Living Tea Shop is such a disappointment for me, as it’s not a tea shop but a kava lounge and head shop. Full of hippies (do not relate) and drugs (also do not relate). Happy for them, as it seems they survived the covid lockdown era and have reopened, but I am in my heart sad that I did not get a genuine tea shop serving tea in delicate cups and full of pomp and ceremony.

I guess Tallahassee is not the town for it.

Of course I haven’t even made it to the new hot pot restaurant that opened nearby, but then, the covid era has really curtailed my sense of adventure.
