dawn at Lake Ella

7/8/2021 – Thursday!

I’m not sure why I’m excited that it’s Thursday, but I guess maybe because it’s not Monday? Ha!

Elsa the Tropical Storm went over the state yesterday, but as I anticipated did not do much for us tucked up here in the panhandle. Most of the worst weather was on the north-east side of the storm, so we ended up with a couple of hard rain bands dumping on us but nothing too harsh. Today we are back to clear skies, much to Keely’s relief!

I was trying to get up and get out earlier so I’d have time to meditate and exercise before work, but a year of being able to sleep in until 6:30 am has wrecked its havoc and so trying to crawl out of bed by 5 am is quite the trial. Even Keely was not in favor of it, not bothering to get up until 5:30 am herself. We managed to stumble out of the door by 5:45 am but whew, it was rough!

I saw a couple of regulars I have not seen in a while, but still no sign of Have a Nice Day Guy, which makes me sad.

I got caught up listening to an audio book and so forgot to look about for something to photograph. Instead, have this shot taken last week in the evening, when I was walking Keely around 7 pm.

sunset over the senior center

This is on 7th Ave. facing Monroe St.. The trees are hiding the Shell station. I love the fiery blaze of the setting sun! The light cloud cover really made the light so diffused! I personally also love the play of the utility wires across the scene, chopping it up with technology. Just so interesting to me.
