dawn at Lake Ella

12/29/2021 – Wednesday

Still no winter weather in sight, despite the atmosphere:

That is, actually, a color photo! It was just that dreary and gray this morning (and yes, that bright little sliver to the upper right is the moon!). It was taken on the far side of Lake Ella, near the Viet Nam Vets center. The weather was again about 70°F with, again, 90% humidity. Keely’s fur was actually damp by the time we made it home, and that was without the promised rain. We are both displeased.

One plus was that I somehow managed to get myself on the dancefloor this morning! It was only about 20 minutes of very loose, low effort freestyle and wow, am I out of shape. Yikes.

The thing that mystifies me about my brain is that I have such a hard time allowing myself to dance even though I LOVE dancing. Love it!  Never done it “seriously” as in lessons and whatnot, but 2 years ago I got a subscription to steezy.co (online dance lessons) and just…rarely use it. Emotionally I treat dancing as something I get to do as a reward but ofc I have low self-esteem so rarely believe I deserve rewards for anything I do. The circle of life, ahahahha *sobs*

But the hard truth is that I’m old enough now that my body will legit atrophy if I don’t start doing some form of exercise regularly. I love dancing and I love yoga, so maybe that will be the end-all/be-all of my resolutions for 2022.

As next week creeps up on us and the new year gets ready to roll over and everyone I know is catching COVID19 and our government continues to fuck everything up in order for rich people to get richer, I admit I’m feeling a little weathered and browbeaten. I have plans, good plans! And yet. And yet…

…I guess today’s photo rather reflects my mood, eh?
